OUR MISSION

Wetten Importers prides itself on partnering with family-owned, independent breweries that go above and beyond to honor tradition and heritage. By sourcing the highest quality ingredients possible and submitting to the strictest standards of brewing technique, our brewery partners have garnered acclaim, both popular and critical, across countless generations. When we say world-class, we mean it.

OUR HISTORY

Founded in Northern Virginia in 1992, Wetten Importers was born out of a hobby. Fueled by his passion for artisanal beers, Martin Wetten sought out classic beers brewed by masters of the craft, and translated through rich history and culture.

Beginning with breweries from his native Switzerland, Wetten soon turned his sights to the Belgian brands his company has become known for. Today, Wetten Importers’ brewery partners represent more than 2,500 combined years of brewing experience – a fact not lost on their home markets, where they’re often the brewers of record.

OUR FUTURE

Belgian brewing has often been described as The Art of Fermentation, as centuries of brewers have sought to coax new and ever-evolving flavors from yeast strains. As these traditions have been passed down through generations technology has grown exponentially, but rarely at the expense of that art.

The change occurring in today’s brewing landscape is no different, as the beer world as we knew it has expanded well beyond our wildest dreams. But ask any of today’s craft brewers where their inspiration comes from, and more often than not, you will hear lively stories of their first Belgian beers. These timeless offerings will no doubt continue to inspire for centuries to come, as they have centuries past.
